Emma Maye
Hey there! I’m Emma, a fourth-year Law and Politics student at the University of Otago. I completed NCEA Levels 1–3 with Excellence endorsements, earning excellence subject endorsements in all levels Biology, English and History, as well as Merit endorsements in Maths. English and literacy has always been a passion of mine, and I placed first in the subject in Years 9 and 10. Throughout high school, I loved being involved in both leadership and service. I was Head Arts Prefect, Netball Captain, and a Student Support Prefect. I also enjoyed contributing to school life through the School Council and Yearbook Committee. I was also a Platinum Service Hour holder, which reflects my genuine passion for helping others and being part of a supportive community.
I tutor Years 9–11 English, General Maths, and Science; Year 12 English; and Years 11–13 Biology and History. As a tutor, I focus on creating a relaxed, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I understand how stressful school and exams can feel, and my goal is to take away some of that pressure by making lessons feel more personal, approachable, and tailored to each student’s needs.
