Holly James

Kia Ora, My name is Holly James and I am a first year student at the University of Canterbury studying a Bachelor of Social and Environmental Sustainability with a minor in Economics and a Bachelor of Law.

I have always had a genuine love for learning and value creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking for help and developing confidence in their abilities. My aim when tutoring is not only to help students academically but also to help them feel more capable and engaged in their learning.

At school I gained NCEA Levels 1&2 with an Excellence endorsement and a Merit endorsement at Level 3. I am particularly passionate about English, Biology and Economics, subjects I am confident tutoring to NCEA Level 3. Additionally I am able to offer Statistics to Level 2, as well as Year 9-10 Maths and General Science.

Outside of my academics I am a member of the national choir, hockey coach and youth leader. I enjoy being outside, crafting, cooking, volunteering and watching/ participating in live music performances. I look forward to meeting and working alongside students to improve their academic confidence and help them meet their goals.
