Xiaojue Xie (Tim)

Hello! I’m Xiaojue Xie, you can also call me Tim. I am a second-year student at the University of Auckland studying Linguistics and Accounting. I specialise in teaching ESOL English to speakers of other languages. 

Working as a facilitator at Auckland University’s English Language Academy alongside private tutoring, I host conversation sessions to help students speak more confidently and fluently. I have also been volunteering as a conversation partner  learner and have learned a lot about each other’s cultures. I understand how learning a new language can be both challenging and rewarding, and I aim to make learning activities enjoyable by adapting to each student’s interests, needs, and learning goals.

Besides studying, I enjoy exploring different places in Auckland. I have been to Mission Bay, Piha, Mount Victoria, and many other places. The beautiful scenery always fascinates me! When I have time, I also read novels and watch Netflix series. I am proud of my multilingualism in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and I greatly enjoy meeting people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
