Advait Kuwalekar
Kia ora! I'm Advait, a second-year student at the University of Auckland studying a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery. I was headboy at Pakuranga College in 2024 where I received my NCEA qualifications, focusing on a broad range of subjects, including technology, arts, and STEM subjects. In High School I was involved in a broad range of extra curriculars such as the Howick youth Council, Hockey, Jazz bands, and other councils.
I specialise in tutoring NCEA subjects up to Level 3, focussing mainly on Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English, and Calculus. My approach to tutoring is to make sure the way that I teach and the lessons I plan are catered uniquely to each student. I believe all these subjects can be learnt in a huge variety of ways, and it's necessary to be able to approach teaching in a versatile manner.
Outside of academics, I love to cook, watch movies, read books, and stay fit. Recently I have been getting into chess and crosswords, which are enjoyable and also have been mentally stimulating and challenging. I love spending time with those around me to feed my soul, especially when we are constantly surrounded by an academic environment. I understand struggling to keep a balance of extracurriculars and school work, which has taught me the value in keeping this work life balance.
I'm excited to support students to reach their fullest potential, and hopefully teach some valuable skills that can transfer over to their courses in future years!
