Wesley Keane

Kia orana! My name is Wesley, and I’m a fourth-year student at the University of Auckland, double majoring in History and Politics, and minoring in Philosophy. I attended Kristin and Diocesan, where I gained my NCEA qualifications, and really enjoyed written Arts subjects. During my secondary education, I participated in a range of clubs—primarily musical—and sports—primarily aquatic! 

I tutor in language-heavy NCEA subjects—English Written, History, Classics, Media Studies—but also cover general science, maths, and drama pathways. My goal with written subjects is largely to help students build skills and confidence that can make assessment structures amplify their ideas and voice, rather than limit them. 

In my free time, I love music and nature. I like to compose piano songs, and walk up our local maunga. If I’m not writing music or hiking, I’m probably in the water, doing a crooked butterfly pull, or reading and pretending I’m good at butterfly. The hobbies I take on in my free time are there to draw my attention to the world around me, and maintain my curious interest in it. 

I’m very happy to have been given the opportunity to help students in their journeys, and I walk the path alongside them with all the support I can possibly give.
