Ryan Kemp
Hello, my name is Ryan. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University of Wellington, majoring in Finance, Chinese, and International Relations.
Originally from West Auckland, I attended Rutherford College, where I developed a strong interest in English, Economics, and Chinese. I carried that passion into my university studies and earned Excellence endorsements in all three subjects across all three levels of NCEA. In my second year of university, I moved to Wellington and have loved living in the city ever since.
Teaching has always been something I enjoy, particularly in the subjects I am passionate about. I have been tutoring students privately for the past two years, and after graduating I hope to teach English in China. While I would describe my Chinese as being at an intermediate level, however, I am very familiar with the NCEA Chinese curriculum and enjoy helping beginner learners build confidence in the language.
Through my tutoring experience, I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges many students face with the NCEA system. I personally thrived under its independent learning approach, but I also recognise that it does not suit everyone. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students excel in their coursework, but also to guide them in navigating NCEA effectively so they can make it work for them.
