Sophie Jamison

Hello! My name is Sophie and I am in my second year at the University of Otago, studying Law and Science (majoring in Psychology). I am an energetic and passionate learner who is keen to make learning an enjoyable experience for everyone, whatever form that may take! I attended Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland where I achieved Excellence Endorsed in NCEA levels 1,2 and 3, along with gilded scholars awards for my achievements and various Excellence course endorsements. Outside of school I was a rower and played premier netball. I am a lover of sports and strong believer in finding time for things we love outside of academics.

I am passionate about helping students understand that success in school is not about innate ability but learning the right skills and strategies. I feel confident tutoring Year 9–11 Maths, Science and Social Studies; Physics and Calculus up to Level 2 and History, English, and Chemistry up to Level 3.

I consider myself a friendly and confident person who can work with anyone to create an exciting and supportive tutoring environment. I look forward to helping students grow their skills and confidence in their academic abilities!
