Rachel Green

Hello! I’m Rachel and I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Commerce and Science majoring in Finance and Mathematics. 

I am a tutor for Calculus and Statistics to NCEA L3, Economics to NCEA L2, and Year 9-11 Maths and English.

Studying Maths has always felt like the right choice for me. Throughout school, I excelled in both Calculus and Statistics, but most importantly, I genuinely enjoy it. I’ve always seen Maths problems as puzzles and I love the satisfaction of working through each step until everything fits together perfectly. One of the things I love most about Maths is that every problem has a logical solution.  Adding finance to my degree felt like the natural choice as it is the perfect blend of Maths and real world applications.

I also studied French throughout school and was lucky enough to spend 7 weeks on a school exchange in France. It was very different being in a classroom where everyone spoke French so naturally and very quickly. It made me realise just how special Maths is as I could still understand and solve the problems in class.

As a tutor, I want to help students develop that same way of thinking by breaking difficult concepts into simple steps. My goal is to help students not only improve but also build confidence and find the enjoyment of learning.

Outside of university, I enjoy playing tennis, going on hikes, spending time with my friends and family and playing sudoku.
