Youlin Qi
Nihao! Greetings! I’m Youlin, and I’m passionate about helping students reach their academic goals while growing holistically—this means not just improving English skills but also building resilience, character, well-being, and social confidence. I believe education should support all aspects of life, shaping well-rounded individuals ready for the future.
Originally from China, I support students aged 5 to 18 in both learning and personal development. I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Architecture at UNITEC in Auckland, which reflects my love for design, creativity, and continuous learning. Outside of study, I enjoy cooking, dancing, swimming, and playing piano. I’ve taught dance privately, represented my school in swimming, and love sharing music—especially inspired by my grandfather, a professional pianist.
I’m bilingual in English and Chinese, having passed IELTS to study in New Zealand. This gives me insight into the challenges ESOL and EAL learners face. I specialise in tutoring English to Chinese students, as well as teaching native speakers phonics, grammar, writing, and comprehension—skills I’ve honed throughout school, university, and now my master’s.
My philosophy is simple: give your best and enjoy the journey. I focus on building confidence through clear, step-by-step strategies and always keep growth in sight. Whether you're a creative, dancer, or athlete, I’m here to help you thrive both academically and personally. I look forward to working with you!
