Ethan Yeo

Kia ora! My name is Ethan Yeo, and I’m from Singapore. I’m currently in my first year of a  Bachelor of Science at the University of Auckland, majoring in Earth Sciences and  Geographic Information Science (GIS). Prior to this, I completed the Cambridge A-Levels  and O-Levels in Singapore, which provided me with a strong academic foundation. 

Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in languages. Inspired by the German  language and culture, I’ve been studying German for the past three years and have  successfully passed the Goethe-Zertifikat A2 and B1, as well as the TestDaF examination.  I’ve also taken the IELTS English exam and achieved excellent results. Aside from  language study, I enjoy playing racket sports in my free time, such as table tennis,  badminton, and tennis. 

As a tutor with prior experience, I am passionate about helping students build confidence  in their learning. Drawing on my own journey through various language exams, I create  personalised and structured lesson plans tailored to each student. Moreover, I focus on  fostering a supportive environment where students can progress through their learning  step-by-step, helping them achieve their academic goals. I am confident in teaching  English, particularly exam preparation for tests like IELTS and TOEFL, and I strive to  ensure that students not only perform well but also enjoy the learning process.
