Sophie Goyal

Hello! My name is Sophie, and I am a first-year student in Bachelor of Nursing (Level-7) at Manukau Institute of Technology, Auckland. I graduated from Rolleston College recently and achieved an overall excellence endorsement in NCEA Level 3 along with excellence endorsements in Calculus, Advanced Chemistry and Physics. Having a strong academic background and a passion for leaning and teaching, I am motivated to be a tutor.

As a tutor, I aim to build a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I break down complex concepts into simple and easy steps so that they can understand easily. I try to customise every lesson according to the student’s pace and learning style. Apart from simply delivering lessons, I try to make learning fun and engaging, making it feel less like a classroom so learning becomes interactive, helping students to grasp concepts faster.

Other than academics, I am actively involved in sports such as badminton and swimming. Completing over 100 hours of volunteering across various community organisations has strengthened my leadership, communication and teamwork skills. I can confidently teach Mathematics (Calculus), Physics, Chemistry up to NCEA Level 3 and help students enhance their learning skills, develop confidence and improve their academic performances.
