Xanthe Watson

Hello, my name is Xanthe Watson. I'm originally from Wellington, but I now live in the halls at the University of Waikato. Currently, I'm a first year student studying Chemical and Process Engineering. Pursuing this degree allows me to cultivate critical thinking and practical problem solving skills, that I can articulate to others effectively.

I attended Sacred Heart College, Lower Hutt, where I worked hard to obtain merit endorsements for NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3. My strengths are in physics, mathematics, and chemistry, providing me with a strong foundation in science and its applications in the real world. I earned an excellence endorsement in level 2 physics as well as honors for level 2 physics and level 3 calculus.

During my last year at high school, I had the opportunity to tutor a younger student studying level 1 science. Through this, I strengthened my confidence in explaining key concepts and subject material, while maintaining a positive relationship with my student.

I'm currently prepared to tutor physics, mathematics, and chemistry at levels 1, 2 and 3. My tutoring style focuses on providing structure to learning and strong fundamental knowledge providing a headstart into advanced applications.
