Matthew King

Hello, I’m Matthew.

I’m a mechatronics engineer and a recent graduate from the University of Canterbury. I tutor Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Statistics, Digital Technology, and their foundational subjects up to NCEA Level 3. Starting in term 4 I’ll also be tutoring courses in mechatronic system design, robotics for third and fourth year students at UC. I’m always happy to chat about pathways into engineering if that is something you are curious about.

I grew up in the Wairarapa, where I was involved in archery, hockey, and musical theatre. These days, my hobbies include hiking, cooking, reading, and video games.

My goal as a tutor is to make learning clear, relevant, and enjoyable by tailoring each session to your individual needs. Whether you learn best through visual aids, first principles explanations, practice questions, or a good old–fashioned conversation, I pride myself on being adaptable and supportive. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.
