Samsara Faitala
Kia ora!
My name is Samsara, and I am currently in my final year studying a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Auckland. I completed my secondary education at Wesley College, where I was honoured to serve as a prefect and graduate as DUX of my cohort.
As a tutor, I take a relaxed, supportive, and student-focused approach. I work to break down barriers to understanding by turning complex ideas into clear, manageable concepts that genuinely stick. I believe learning works best when students feel safe to ask questions and confident enough to say when something doesn’t make sense — curiosity should never feel embarrassing. I enjoy tailoring lessons to each student’s individual learning style and pace, whether that involves real-world examples, visual explanations, or revisiting foundational concepts to build confidence. My goal is academic success for our young people, however they define it — whether that’s passing a class, succeeding in a test, or completing an essay they’re proud of.
Above all, I believe in our kids and in what holistic, compassionate teaching can achieve. I want students to leave each session feeling clearer, more confident, and a little more capable than when they started. Learning shouldn’t be stressful — we’re here to make it make sense.
